High school graduates from the classes of 2020 – 2025 are eligible for a last-dollar scholarship to cover the tuition and fees of an Associate’s degree or one-year certificate at York County Community College. As a last-dollar scholarship, eligible students must first accept all Federal and state grants awarded to them. Any remaining costs associated with tuition and fees will be covered by the 自由大学 Scholarship.
To qualify, students must:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent from 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. This includes homeschooled students, and students earning a GED or Hi-SET during those years.

Live in Maine while enrolled in courses throughout the semester
(ie. home, rental, residence hall)
- 你不能 earn more than one associate degree under 自由大学 program.
- 你可以 use the 自由大学 program to get two one-year certificates or a certificate and an associate degree in the following scenarios:
- If the two certificates are stackable. (e.g. Heating certificate, Plumbing certificate)
- If the certificate leads to the associate degree (e.g. Automotive Chassis certificate + Automotive Technology degree)
- If the two certificates are directly related. (Ex. Construction Technology certificate and Electrician Technology certificate)

Enroll in a certificate or an associate degree program during the following timeframes:
- 2020 - 21毕业生 – No later than Fall 23/Spring 24 or Summer 24
- 2022年毕业生 – No later than Fall 24/Spring 25 or Summer 25
- 2023年毕业生 – No later than Fall 25, Spring 26, or Summer 26
- 2024年毕业生 – No later than Fall 26, Spring 27, or Summer 27
- 2025年毕业生 – No later than Fall 27, Spring 28, or Summer 28
你可以 access the scholarship for up to 200% of the program completion time (i.e. if your program completion time is 2 years, you can take up to 4 years to complete it).
